I hear they are going to tear down the old Meeker school...like many of you I spent 4 years of my education there! I remember singing"Chester Have you Heard about Harry" in the  kindergarten playground, "Make a Wish Upon a Star" in the auditorium, and "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes" and "Go You Chicken Fat Go!" in the gym. On the playground we learned our first lessons about bullying, about being brave, about competition, and flying high on the swings. That's where I got my first kiss (from Bill Zickefoose) and Chinese Jumprope was all the rage! At Meeker I learned to read, learned about fractions, and the planets, wrote reports and poems, made art projects out of yarn and puppets out of socks. I loved it when Mrs. Jackson read "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" to us! Bluebirds and Campfire Girls, long division, science projects, and the bus ride back to our little neighborhood north of the cornfield were all part of my education while I attended Meeker. 4 years! That's the length of time I spent on my college education! Who remembers what you learned at Meeker? I've been told if you want to see it one more time, you better go soon! It may not be standing by reunion time.

I have assembled a list of local hotels in Ames for the reunion.  Mike Swan will post the list for me soon.  Please note that the only hotel that I've arranged a block/group rate is the Gateway.  Rate is $109 per night.  Please mention the AHS Class of 75 Reunion to receive the rate.
