Best thoughts & wishes to you all! My husband, David, & I have been thrilled in recent years as God so clearly has blessed us & our family. We had home-schooled our 6 children until they went to university & 3 of them currently are working on doctorates. One of our 5 sons became a sentinel at The Tomb of the Unknowns, Badge #611, Arlington National Cemetery. Our 8th grandchild will arrive soon! As 4 of our boys serve in the military & they all have pursued further education, we've had opportunity to travel far & wide for their landmark events. The church David founded & pastored for 29 years moved into a stunning new building that we built mostly with our own hands. Through an odd turn of events we acquired a free cabin cruiser that became a getaway haven plied in the waters surrounding our peninsula in western Washington State. We were given a dream trip to China & Hong Kong...David's wish long had been to go on his daily 7-mile run on The Great Wall. In 2012, God blessed us with a tiny winter home near Palm Springs, California. However, God had a special project planned for us, the grandest circumstance through which to honor & glorify Him - David's 15-month battle with glioblastoma. My darling David was buried 3 days before our 36th wedding anniversary in 2013. I hardly could believe it when I went alone to the cemetery on that anniversary day & found 36 red roses & a handwritten note. We had packed joy & crammed memories into the months of his illness, even moving from our family home of 29 years to a wonderful new home jutting from a hillside looking out to snow-capped mountains & saltwater vistas. Eagles fly overhead & submarines pass our great room windows. All our love for each other was out on the table. Our Heavenly Father had been nothing but good to us! Since David went home to Glory, and as I eagerly await our reunion and seeing Jesus Christ face to face, I continue the writing I have done for 2 decades, manage & enjoy our 2 homes & continue my responsibilities as pastor's wife at our church until its pulpit is filled by a new pastor. David & I promised each other & God, in the first hour of his illness, that we would not waste precious time in self-pity over the losses to come but, rather, would live each moment with joy & gratefulness to God for His tremendous blessings & His gift of eternal life through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. David has gone on ahead, but I make it the priority of each day to keep my word both to him & to God &, hopefully, to radiate before others the love both of them have so faithfully given to me & for which I am Immeasurably, eternally thankful. God doesn't make mistakes! It's God's will for David to be rejoicing with Him in Heaven & for me to remain...whether that's only for today or for decades to come, it is a gift to carry David Wymer's name & to walk daily with Jesus Christ...it is a privilege to honor both of them with my life & to give our Heavenly Father the glory He is due. God truly is good!
